The Network Administrator program is designed for students wishing to embark on a career in the Information Technology industry. The objective is to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to service computer systems in a standalone or networked environment and to support end-users on these systems. Students will study the theory of computer systems and operating systems and then develop practical skills through direct hands-on training. In addition, students will work with application software to develop a level of expertise with the most commonly used office programs and the skills to support users. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of critical thinking, the people skills associated with providing end-user support in a professional manner, and providing solid IT solutions required by employers today.
A student must obtain an overall average of at least 70% in order to graduate and receive a diploma. A student must achieve a grade of 70% in all technical modules identified by this symbol @ on the following pages, but may achieve a grade of less than 70% and no module mark is below 50%. A student may be allowed to retake a module in which the mark received was 70% (50% for modules not bearing the symbol), or to raise the overall average to 70%. A student must complete the hours of the Student Success Strategies and Career & Employment Strategies modules for the program as indicated on this outline.

Industry and vendor certifications have are a benchmark used by employers in the hiring process. This program helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ Core Hardware, A+ OS Technologies and the Network+ certification exams, as well as the Help Desk Institute's Help Desk Analyst certification exam.
