Canada's Best Career Guide, published by Media corp, ranks law enforcement-related careers as one of the best social / community service career paths in Canada. Specific careers listed include: Police Officer, Parole Officer, Public Security Guard, and Private Detective. Private Investigator is rated one of the top 30 growth careers. This program is designed to provide individuals who are interested in law enforcement, with the foundation and basic skills needed for successful employment in this field.
Prior to graduation, students are required to produce evidence of the following:
- Completion of 100 hours of volunteer work experience;
- Successful evaluation of physical fitness;
- An overall program average of at least 70%...a student may achieve a grade of less than 70% in any course provided that the overall average is at least 70% and no course mark is below 50%;
- Successful completion of First Aid and CPR;
- Keyboarding speed of 25 wpm
- Completion of the hours of Student Success Strategies & Career & Employment Strategies courses for the program.
