The objective of this program is to develop skills in four key areas:
- Medical Terminology
- Medical Office Administrative skills
- Medical Transcription
- Word Processing
In addition, the program fosters the development of interpersonal skills, organizational effectiveness, and the communication skills necessary to function within a medical environment.
A student must obtain an overall average of at least 70% in order to graduate and receive a diploma. Each student must achieve a grade of at 60% in each module identified by this symbol *, on the following pages. A grade of less than 60% in any other course, provided that the overall average is at least 70% and no course mark less than 50%.
A student may be allowed to retake a course in which the mark received was below 60% (50% for courses not bearing the symbol), or to raise the overall average to 70%.
A student must obtain a keyboarding speed of 40 net wpm Extra keyboarding time is available for students. A student must complete the hours required for the Student Success Strategies and Career & Employment Strategies courses for the program as indicated in this outline.
- Grade 12 High School Diploma
- Mature Student Status
- 19 Years Old
- Out of High School for 1 year
- Passing grade on entrance examination.
